What does Surface Safe mean?
Surface Safe products are made with removable adhesive that is formulated specifically to stick securely and remove cleanly from recommended surfaces. That means that when it’s time to remove them, there is no sticky residue to scrape off or damage to the surface. All Surface Safe products work on metal and glass. However, it’s important to remember that all surfaces are not created equal. So we have different Surface Safe products to deal with special surfaces that are generally a problem for generic removable labels.
Recommended surfaces for Surface Safe products
Certain plastics require a specific type of adhesive formula. Avery Surface Safe Table & Chair Signs are ideal for fabric office chairs, glass, metal and hard plastics. On the other hand, walls are one of the most difficult surfaces for generic removable labels. That’s why we created special products designed to stick and remove cleanly from common wall surfaces. Once customized, you can print them yourself, or have us print them for you. On the other hand, preprinted Surface Safe products have a design already professionally printed on them. Order online, then all you have to do is peel, apply, and remove when you’re done. Simple.
Yes! Surface Safe labels and decals will not damage metal or glass. However, we only recommend Surface Safe products for temporary use as they are not waterproof or UV-resistant. For long-lasting, permanent car decals, try our printable outdoor vinyl products that are waterproof and resist fading for up to 2 years outdoors.
Printable Surface Safe labels and decals are not meant for extended use outdoors. However, they are ideal for placing important messaging on glass store fronts, doors or windows that are protected from the elements (with an awning or overhang, for example) or when used in a temporary capacity.
Yes! Surface Safe decals, signs, stickers and labels for walls are water-resistant, which means they are safe for refrigerators and freezers and may be splashed or rinsed. They are also safe for indirect food contact per FDA 21 CFR 175.105 and resistant to common oils such as those used for cooking.
