Can I print on WePrint labels when I receive them? Can I order them blank and then print on them?

Due to the coating on WePrint products, they cannot be run through personal inkjet or laser printers.

Secondary printing is currently only available on our White UltraDuty Film, White Film and Chrome Film roll labels with the Thermal Transfer Printable (Glossy) option on select thermal transfer printers.The rest of our label stock does not feature a top coat and should not be run through a secondary printer. If you need a custom application or have questions about secondary printing, please contact our Consumer Care Center.

How do I upload and design my artwork or choose my label size?

You can either upload your own design or use the free Avery Design & Print software to personalize one of our professional templates. If you have your own artwork, it can be uploaded to our design software. See our Artwork Guidelines on how to upload designs.

Are WePrint labels safe to use on food products?

WePrint labels include FDA-compliant* adhesives that are safe for indirect food contact. They are suitable for food and beverage labeling applications where the label is separated from the food by a functional barrier such as glass. For more information read this compliance regulation definition. Please note: This regulation does not mention temperature restrictions, however, Avery recommends that its adhesives should be kept at room temperature or below to be considered food safe. Adhesives exposed to conditions hotter than room temperature may require further migration testing to determine if they are suitable for the application.

What's the difference between waterproof & water-resistant labels?

Water-resistant labels are good for products that may get splashed, rinsed, or wiped off but will not be submerged in water.

Waterproof labels work better on products that will get submerged in ice or water, or are exposed to extreme temperatures or outdoor environments.

Can I use Surface Safe Sign Labels outdoors?

Surface Safe Sign Labels are recommended for indoor use. They can be used, however, for temporary outdoor use without a problem.

How are the designs provided OSHA and ANSI compliant?

Avery sign templates follow ANSI Z535 and OSHA 1910.145 design guidelines for usage of headers, fonts and symbols. Additionally, the material prints clearly and colors remain vibrant, for long-term readability.

How long will the Surface Safe Sign Labels be removable?

Though conditions may vary, the Sign Labels can be removed without residue or damage up to 3 years after application.

How durable are the Surface Safe Sign Labels?

The Sign Labels are made of polyester material that is chemical, water and tear resistant, so you are assured signs will last.

Can I apply Surface Safe signs to vinyl and faux leather surfaces?

Yes, Surface Safe signs can be applied to vinyl and faux leather surfaces.

What surfaces can I use Surface Safe Sign Labels on?

The adhesive is engineered to work on painted walls, drywall, metal and glass, without any residue or damage to surfaces. The Sign Labels can also be used on most hard, smooth surfaces like doors, desks and cabinets.

What chemicals can the Surface Safe Sign Labels withstand?

Surface Safe Sign Labels can withstand cleaners like IPA, Windex® and 409®, as well as motor oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid and hydraulic oil.

Can I print on Custom Printed labels when I receive them? Can I order them blank and then print on them?

Can I apply Surface Safe signs to varnished surfaces?

While we thoroughly test and validate that our decals and signs are suited for use on most common wall, table and chair surfaces, we recommend applying a small portion of our material to an inconspicuous area before full application to ensure adhesion and clean removability.With some older varnished or laminated surfaces, our adhesive may adhere aggressively and remove the top layer of the surface.

Printable design templates vs. preprinted products

Avery printable design templates are predesigned signs, labels, stickers, etc. that you can customize using our free online software, Avery Design and Print Online. Once customized, you can print them yourself, or have us print them for you. On the other hand, preprinted Surface Safe products have a design already professionally printed on them.
