Step 1: Get Free Download

Instructions: Download a free copy of Avery Wizard Software for Microsoft® Office.

Step 2: Create a Spreadsheet

Instructions: You may have mailing lists in different programs or in an old address book. In any case, you’ll want to gather and enter all those contacts into a single database or spreadsheet program, such as Microsoft® Excel. It’s a one-time effort that will help you in the long run. If you don't have a spreadsheet with all of your names and addresses, you can start with our pre-formatted files for Microsoft® Excel or other database programs.

Step 3: Select Names and Addresses

Instructions: Highlight the column names and the rows which contain all the names and addresses that you'll want to print onto the labels.

Step 4: Start the Avery Wizard

Instructions: Click on the Avery icon button on your toolbar to start the Avery Wizard software while still working within your Microsoft® Office program. Click Next to start a new project.

Step 5: Enter Your Avery Product

Instructions: Enter the Avery product number or description, then click on the Search button. Choose the product from the list, then click Next.

Step 6: Choose a Template to Customize

Instructions: You'll find a variety of options to choose from, from blank templates to predesigned templates. Click on the template you want to use, then click Next.

Step 7: Add Field Names

Instructions: Delete the placeholder text. Select the field names on the right and click Add Field to Layout.

Step 8: Print Preview

Instructions: Choose whether you want your addresses to fill the label sheet down the column or to fill across the row.  You can click on Print Preview to see how your project will print. 

Step 9: Print

Instructions: Your mailing list is now formatted in a shipping label document that will open in Microsoft® Word for you to print.

Confusing and a LOT of Time

I'm trying to merge a Word document of addresses into Avery labels and there is nothing on the site to tell me how to do this.

"Create a Spreadsheet" is what one section said. "This one time effort will save you time in the long run." WRONG!

As a teacher and my students change every semester. This will take a LOT of time.

I tried pasting the Word doc addresses into Excel but if I paste them all into cell/row A it doesn't work, which means I have to type ALL 125 students (and parents!) names and addresses every time! I don't have this kind of time.

I thought would be easy but several of the Help sections are similarly named and not specific.
