Print Address Labels from Your Mailing List

Large mailing list? No problem. Creating address labels from your mailing list is simple. Just follow these step-by-step directions and you’ll go from mailing list to labels in no time flat.

Jump to Step: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9

Step 1: Get Started

Instructions: Download Avery Wizard Software for Microsoft® Office for free.

Step 2: Pick a Program for Your Mailing List

Instructions: You may have mailing lists in different programs or in an old address book. In any case, you’ll want to gather and enter all those contacts into a single list in a database or spreadsheet program, such as Microsoft® Outlook. It’s a one-time effort that will save you time in the long run.

Step 3: Select the Information for the Address Label

Instructions: Highlight the column names and rows with the names and addresses that you would like to print on your address labels.

Step 4: Launch the Avery Wizard

Instructions: While still working within your Microsoft® Office program, click on the Avery icon on your toolbar to start the Avery Wizard Software. Click Next to start a new project.

Step 5: Select Your Avery Product

Instructions: Enter the product number or description of the Avery product you’re using, then click the Search button. Choose your product from the list, then click Next.

Step 6: Select an Avery Template to Customize

Instructions: You'll find a variety of template options to choose from, including blank templates and pre-designed templates. Click on the template you want to use, then click Next.

Step 7: Add Field Names to the Layout

Instructions: Delete the placeholder text. Select the field names on the right and click Add Field to Layout.

Step 8: Select Merge Direction and Preview

Instructions: Choose whether you want your addresses to fill the label sheet down the column or to fill across the row. You can click on Print Preview to see how your project will print.

Step 9: Finish

Instructions: Your mailing list is now formatted in an address label document that will open in Microsoft® Word when you are ready to print.

i didnt even follow instructions. just went in on my own. selected the template for labels i bought. mine was 18160. then selected mail merge list. added fields, arranged them and voila. took me 1 minute to get this printing going.
i also figured it out how to do it in word, but took me longer. this is way faster and easier process!

I am very software savy and despite repeated attempts at downloading excel sheet addresses to an Avery Dennison template - I gave up. The directions left out a lot of information and you could not click on any links for more information/help. It was a pain.

There is not enough detail, on which software and what format that is needed to upload. Lack of details on instructions are ridiculous. Website is not user friendly.

Extremely disappointed
