Why is the Color on My Screen Different than what is Printing?

Colors on your computer can appear different than on actual printed products. Most computer screens (RGB) are not optimized to mimic color printing.

If you require exact color matching, we recommend using our Avery WePrint professional printing service where you can order a press proof. Electronic proofs should only be used when exact color matching is not required. See our WePrint Artwork Guidelines for more details.

The colors used by computer monitors, cell phones and tablets are RGB, which are different from how colors are digitally printed (CMYK). The CMYK color space does not contain all colors that exist in RGB, so not all colors can be translated.

Also, colors don't translate exactly how you'd expect. Some of the trickiest colors are:

o       The brightest blues may be printed a much deeper blue

o       Some blues look purple

o       Some reds look orange

o       The brightest pinks may be printed in a more muted pink

o       The brightest greens may be printed in a more muted green
