In order to deter counterfeit copies of a product being sold online, Amazon is using Transparency Labels. When specific brands enroll in the Transparency program they are issued a series of codes that are connected to their product. Each unit will be labeled with a specific code that is tracked and traced back to a single brand within the program. If Amazon receives a shipment of the products that are enrolled in this program and they are not labeled with these specific codes, the seller will be investigated, and the inventory will be rejected or destroyed. This program is also available for other third parties to use if they download the Amazon app - at this point, they will be able to scan the product to see its information and if it is original or counterfeit.
