The adhesive used in Avery Floor Decals is engineered to cleanly remove within 6 months, under normal exposures and conditions. Here's how to remove Avery decals:
If you apply light heat, such as from a hair dryer, to one edge of the decal as you slowly pull up, this will soften the adhesive and make removal easier. Start at one edge and pull at an angle less than 45 degrees, using short quick strokes. If wax is accumulated around the edge, a putty knife may be required to lift the decal’s edge. To remove in smaller sections, use a knife to slit the edge and remove each section separately.
Removing decals may pull up some of the wax on tile floors. Clean and re-wax that area to create a level surface.
If a decal has been on longer than 6 months, the bond between the adhesive and the flooring surface will increase, making it more difficult to remove cleanly. Using a hair dryer on one edge should soften the adhesive and make this easier.
