Import from Canva to Avery Design & Print Online, PNG vs PDF Image

We have thousands free pre-designed templates in our Design & Print Online tool. If you want to use Canva to create a design, here are the steps for uploading your design to our tool.

How to Import Images from Canva

To import an image from Canva into a Design & Print Online project, create your design in Canva for one label or card on your project (Design & Print will automatically repeat it).  Note: if your image appears blurry, jagged or pixelated in Canva, it will also print that way, so try to improve the image quality while you're still in Canva.

  • Click on Share in the upper right corner and select Download

selecting share and download in Canva

  • Change the File type to PNG
  • Select the option for Transparent background (requires Canva Pro subscription)
  • Click Download
  • Save your image to another folder, if desired (remember where you saved it)
  • Go to Design & Print Online, click Start Designing and enter your Avery product number if you want to print your project yourself, or choose WePrint near the top left of the screen to have Avery print for you
  • Choose a blank template then, on Step 3 - Customize, click Image from the tools on the left and select Add Image
  • Click Browse for File and navigate to your image file (it will be in your Downloads folder unless you saved it somewhere else)
  • Click Open and then resize and reposition your image
  • Click Save and then Preview & Print or Next to move forward to print or order
  • If you are creating a design for a Print to the Edge Avery product, be sure to add a 1/16" bleed to your design in Canva before downloading
  • For more information, use Help or See How buttons in Design & Print Online to watch detailed videos

If you add your Canva design as an image, you may need to unlock the Lock Aspect Ratio to get the design to fit properly on the template within the safety area.
