Do Avery Products Contain Formaldehyde?

A component that is added to provide water-resistance may contain a formaldehyde-based resin.

The face of the labels is a textured paper, but there are wet-strength additives to provide water resistance.  This is different from most of our paper facestocks. This paper is generally called water-resistant or weather-resistant.  Avery arched labels have reinforcements as well as our water-bottle labels.

Avery Weatherproof labels are different, and do not contain this additive.

There are no known allergens reported by our supplier in the material specification, but the suppliers keep their formulas secret.  Avoiding the class of paper should help you to prevent exposure again.
