Others mow lawns. Maddie Martin did all that and more. Her family even nicknamed her \u201cMoney Bags Maddie\u201d because she always had a new idea to make a little pocket change. That entrepreneurial streak never went away, and it eventually led to her own business: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.madcandleco.shop\/\">Mad Candle Co.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It all started in 2018, when Maddie was working in a high-stress restaurant job and looking for a creative escape. Candle-making became her outlet, but she quickly noticed that most \u201cclean\u201d candles on the market didn\u2019t meet her standards. Maddie is all about creating something beautiful, safe, and memorable. Each new candle goes through multiple rounds of testing and feedback from friends and family before making it into a collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She also loves sharing the journey with her customers on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/mad_candle_co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Instagram<\/a>, where she posts behind-the-scenes looks at pouring, packaging, and prepping for markets. Recently, Maddie\u2019s also started doing in-person pop-ups. \u201cNothing beats talking with someone face-to-face about their favorite scents,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-from-bend-to-beyond\">From Bend to beyond<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Mad Candle Co. has a home base in Eugene, Oregon, but sells her candles everywhere, including at <a href=\"https:\/\/theworkhousebend.com\/\">The Workhouse Bend<\/a>, a collaborative space filled with local artists and makers. But Maddie\u2019s candles have traveled far beyond. After discovering <a href=\"\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Avery <\/a>through <a href=\"http:\/\/www.candlescience.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CandleScience,<\/a> she started with blank labels but quickly realized she wanted to focus on candles, not troubleshooting her printer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-text-align-left is-style-default has-medium-font-size is-layout-flow wp-container-core-quote-is-layout-b9598678 wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\" style=\"border-width:1px;border-radius:10px;padding-top:0;padding-bottom:0\">\n<p><em>&#8220;Best choice I ever made? Absolutely.&#8221;<\/em> <\/p>\n<cite>&#8211;<em>Maddie Martin, on switching to Avery custom printing for her candle company.<\/em><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Switching to <a href=\"\/custom-printing\/labels\/calculator\/candle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Avery custom printing <\/a>was, in her words, \u201cone of the best decisions I\u2019ve made.\u201d Maddie now uses <a href=\"\/custom-printing\/labels\/calculator\/material-paper-white-textured\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">white textured labels<\/a> (2.5&#8243; square and 2.75&#8243; circle) for her jars, plus <a href=\"\/custom-printing\/cards\/business-cards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">square business cards with rounded corners<\/a> and <a href=\"\/custom-printing\/cards\/post-cards\/\">postcards <\/a>as discovery box inserts and shelf talkers.
