I customize Avery Name Badges for any and all events -- from mixers and volunteer events, to big conferences and holiday parties. The ability to carry an event theme through to custom badges is a plus. In additional names and titles, I like including logos, event graphics/colors, team numbers, and event icons to call out leaders, seasoned volunteers, and key staff.

As a designer I do NOT ever design anything in Word. To me a template is something I can bring into any program to use a a guide. This should be a eps or pdf file for that purpose. There should be a choice between one of those options and a Word file.
To get around this, I opened the Word "template", selected all, and turned on the "borders-all". Then I printed the file to a PDF and then brought the PDF in to InDesign to design my labels.

I don't know why everyone is complaining about this template. I typed in my labels, enlarged to the largest size I could, printed, and I was done! Perfect!

These templates don't work at all.

This review is from AVERY Name Badge Label, 8 per sheet:

Any time I've printed with these Avery templates, they end up misaligned and also end up being a bit too small, so that the cards closer to the bottom end up having more and more material cut off. Even after fitting each card design perfectly into the templates, they don't print right. And even following the online version of them, all of the cards were undersized, low quality in print, and misaligned.

This review is from AVERY Name Badge Label, 8 per sheet:

The online template for making name tags works very well. It has enough flexibility and features to make it useful for the average committee chairperson like me trying to make name tags for 250 guests at a fundraiser. Creating a name tag with a large first name, a smaller last name underneath and some curved text at the top with the name of the organization was a snap. Then I filled the text with our organization's signature color using the hexadecimal system. The only difficulty I had was in trying to add a border. The stock border in the "Shapes" tab was too heavy, even when I selected the thinnest option, and it overpowered the name tag. So I had to build a border out of four pieces of the "line" shape. Then I had to fill each of the pieces with color. It came out perfectly, but it was a bit more work than it should be. Suggestion for Avery: Make the border design with a much thinner stroke. On the whole, this is a great product.

Adobe, Mac templates are needed for this product

As an experienced graphic designer trying to accomplish some simple printed name tag labels, it's clear the Avery software and Microsoft Word versions of the templates for these labels are insufficient. Please develop Adobe Mac software downloadable templates.
