I customize Avery Name Badges for any and all events -- from mixers and volunteer events, to big conferences and holiday parties. The ability to carry an event theme through to custom badges is a plus. In additional names and titles, I like including logos, event graphics/colors, team numbers, and event icons to call out leaders, seasoned volunteers, and key staff.

As a designer I do NOT ever design anything in Word. To me a template is something I can bring into any program to use a a guide. This should be a eps or pdf file for that purpose. There should be a choice between one of those options and a Word file.
To get around this, I opened the Word "template", selected all, and turned on the "borders-all". Then I printed the file to a PDF and then brought the PDF in to InDesign to design my labels.

This program is almost impossible to use. I am so sorry I spent the money on these expensive name badges that I cannot use because the program is so user unfriendly. Have tried to get it to work on a MacBook Air and an older laptop - nothing works.

It's been some time since I've used this site, and I'm pleased to see such great improvements!! Used to be so difficult to use the templates on Mac programs that I used to have to build my own. Now the templates are easy to use, there's plenty of artwork if I don't need to make anything custom, and I can have it printed through Avery for better quality and better prices than printing on my own or driving to Staples or Kinko's, which seems to cost more each time I go!! Great improvements!!

Help Doc - How to add additional pages with this template

This review is from AVERY Name Badge Label, 8 per sheet:

As others have noted this is not the easiest template to navigate. The first page imports great, even though it was designed in Office 97, it will work. The issue happens when you try to add a second page. The instructions say to hit "Enter" after the end of the first page and then tab through each tab. Unfortunately, that does not work. The text for the labels do not match the label spacing. A carriage return is missing. My solution (after an hour of tinkering...argh) is as follows:
            1. Open the template and you will see your first page
            2. Put your cursor at the end of the last label and hit [Enter] key. Now you should have a second page with two labels
            3. Highlight all the labels from the first page.
            4. Right click "copy" or hit CTRL+C
            5. Highlight the labels on the second page.
            6. Right click "paste" or hit CTRL+V
Now you should have two pages of labels. Rinse and repeat till you have the number of pages you need.

Hopefully Avery will read this and fix their template. Until then I hope this helps.

            Horrible!

This review is from AVERY Name Badge Label, 8 per sheet:

This is infuriating! All I want to do is print a simple nametag. It keeps asking for my password and then, when provided for the umpteenth time, tells me the page is not available. The website keeps asking for Flash, which I have installed and even taken the time to update, but keeps telling me I need Flash. Boo to you, Avery!
