You download the template, but it is just like a normal document that you can change. The key to getting them to print right, is go to your page setup (for Microsoft Office Users) and make the page a full 8 1/2 inches by 11 inches page. Leave everything else (margins and such) alone. Then when you load the blank pages of badges into your printer, be sure to load them (depending on your printer) so that it will print them to the far left margin, once the project has been printed. Voila! You have your badges printed and they are in the correct margins. It only took me about 10 pages and 1.5 hours to figure it out, but it is well worth the time and investment! Now I can use them for any occasion! Thanks Avery!

This company should be embarrassed that they are charging $45 for a kit to print nametags, and yet this template is impossible to use. Instead, I'm going to have to do trial and error using printer paper. OMG, I should have just done sticker nametags with sharpie markers. When you download the template -- it's weird because the printing area appears to be on the left of the page, but in the printer I think the little labels need to be in the center. Furthermore, when I try to type on the labels or paste our logo on to them, it won't let me. So -- is it going to work? It's not clear if any "scrap" / experimentation pages are provided, so if I screw one up, am I stuck? Is the entire set worthless?

Absolutely Horrible

By Jeff

from Atlanta GA

This review is from AVERY Name Badge Insert, 3 per 4.25x11 sheet:

Find another way to do your badges. Keep trying over and over to set up the printer to accept this sheet and print with this template. The value of time I have wasted on this exceeds what it would have cost to go to a print shop and have them do custom name tags. With all of the complaints I'm now reading online, you would think the company would have invested in a change.

      Waste

This 4.25 x 11 size paper does NOT work with HP Officejet Pro 8600. I've looked for driver updates, and the size is not compatible. HP says to go to Avery for problem resolution, and Avery offers no solution except to buy full sheet name badges next time. Ugh.

NEVER would buy this product again.

I would NEVER buy this product. It is a waste of time and money. The response from Avery to a previous review is "next time buy the full page name badges". Don't waste your time or money!

Those name tags look quite nice. Too bad that I cannot get the printer to accept the funky paper size. Wish there were instructions somewhere to be found on how to print these.
