I had to create an account and review this as it only had one review saying it was garbage and wouldn't unzip. Apparently the user didn't know what they were doing because this downloaded easily, one click to unzip and opened it up in adobe illustrator and went right on to my business. I almost spent more time looking for another template or creating my own based off this review. Don't make that mistake...this works just fine.

I just tossed ALL labels I had in my file from Avery. I tried to download a simple template for address labels and it downloaded as a zip , locked file. Plus I have to tell them who I am before I can get the template. I will use another brand before I use Avery again.

Don't Use Any Avery Templates

By Fontmaven

This review is from AVERY Address Label, 30 per sheet:

None of the Avery Templates are formatted correctly. They are slightly off. And the template for InDesign is horrendous. It's basically a very bad scan converted into a .PDF file imported into InDesign. You would expect better from this company.

I create my own templates.

For non-symmetrical labels like CD Labels:
1. Take any label sheet - Avery or another brand
2. Take a thin tipped black marker and trace the label(s).
3. Scan the sheet you just traced and recreate the traced lines in Adobe Illustrator or InDesign.
4. Now you have a proper template.

For symmetrical labels like #5160
1. Measure the top of the sheet to the first row of labels. Measure the left side of the sheet to the first label. This is your margin size. Put these numbers in the margins area of Adobe InDesign or Adobe Illustrator
2. Create a box with the appropriate rounded edges to the exact size of the label.
3. Place that box on the upper left hand corner where the margins start.
4. Step and repeat the box down until the last box bottom hits the bottom margin. Keep in mind if the labels don't touch each other then you must measure the space in-between each label and accommodate for that amount when you step and repeat.
5. Step and repeat the Boxes to the right also accommodating for any space between the labels.
6. Make sure you set the boxes to non-printing otherwise if they have a stroke the stroke will print on your sheet.

In InDesign you can save this file as a template so you can use it again.

It works but comes with malware

      By Yo

This review is from AVERY Address Label, 30 per sheet:

Why do you need to download a .exe to download an Illustrator template? Because they want you to install their toolbars.
