To be perfectly honest, I initially attempted to format my address labels using this template without following all of the printing instructions. Concerned that solely using the template with MS Word's default printing settings would result in formatting issues (i.e. alignment, etc.), I re-read the "Basic Printing Tips" on the back one of the sheets of labels and noticed that more help regarding printing issues could be found at "http://avery.com/printingtips"

I opened the "Basic Printing Tips" .pdf document and found further detailed instructions under the heading, "Avery Templates in Microsoft Word." It was there I realized that my initial assumption regarding printing setting was incorrect and that one is supposed to do the following:
In the menu bar:

>Click on "Tools"
>Follow: "Letters and Mailings"
>Click on "Envelopes and Labels"

Once that menu window is displayed, all you have to do is:
>Click "Labels" tab
>Click "Options" button
>Under Printer Information
>Select "Laser and ink jet"
>Under "Label Information":
>Change the "Label products" setting to "Avery standard"
>Scroll through "Product number" list and select the appropriate product number
>Note: The "Product number" refers to the 4-digit template number rather than the 5-digit package number
>Click "OK"
>Click "New Document"

...and viola! It automatically adjusts the whole sheet and address label fields to the correct size for your particular label sheet. Now all that's left to do is create!

I've been using these labels for a very long time. Once you could simply pull up multiple Templates in MS Word. Now you have few choices available, including no blank templates (which I prefer), and when you take the extra time to make them blank yourself, they still don't print right and you end up wasting money on pages.
Also, when you try to go through this website and download the correct blank template, they try to force the ask toolbar with the template download. This is almost as bad as forced McAffee downloads. I'm tired of big business making things harder and not easier.

I have used this product and the template for years. Now it has downloaded Ask to my computer (YUCK!) and doesn't line up! Horrible. Would have given no stars, but wasn't an option. Switching to a different company. Horrible experience!

I have been using your products for years with WORD. 20 minutes to figure out that the template I installed doesn't line up. Now in order to get a template from your site you want me to install 3rd party software.

    SO LONG AVERY !!!!!!!!

I've used Avery labels for years but I've just spent 15 minutes trying to get a clean template. You want my email address???? WHY! Then when I finally agree to create an account because you've made it impossible to get a template any other way....YOU TRY TO LOAD ASK SOFTWARE ON MY COMPUTER??????

I'll figure this out on my own...and not buy Avery labels anymore!
