How to Use Templates
We have created templates to help you format your Avery products using Microsoft® Word, Adobe® Illustrator®, Adobe® InDesign® and Adobe® Photoshop.

If you do not have any of these programs, use Avery Design & Print Online.

After you download your Avery template, be sure to remember where you saved the file on your computer and the file name.

Open Microsoft® Word or an Adobe® program for your template and select File > Open to navigate to the drive and folder to open your template.

Use the program’s formatting and printing features to edit and save your template.

Get Adobe Flash player

Tip: For Microsoft® Word users – If the template looks like a blank page, select Table > Show Gridlines to view the template layout. For detailed instructions on Microsoft® Word templates, click here.

Thank you for using Avery templates!

Products are great, should be able to order quickly, If I find something on 1 page, I get lost if trying to get back to it after looking for the appropriate template. Why isn't there an easy direct link? Why do I have to spend time wandering around?
The whole experience makes me not want to shop on your site.
Sorry.

The templates NEED to be provided in PDF format, not just Word! I design labels in Illustrator or InDesign, so a Word template is absolutely no help to me. And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one designing in other programs that could make good use of a PDF version. Who designs anything in Word, anyways? Word is just for word processing, not design, so why in the world would templates for design only be provided for Word? I would personally never buy Avery labels because I know the templates are only in Word, but I have coworkers bringing me Avery labels. I roll my eyes after they leave my cubicle, then I am forced to create my own work-around just so I can make use of the labels. Rant over. In summary: please, please, PLEASE provide templates in PDF! My coworkers will not stop bringing me Avery labels!

I have been using Avery templates for years. I downloaded the most current version for #5163. When I go to print labels, I have figured out that for some reason, every 10th label gets dropped? I never had this problem with the older version. Really stinks when you have 200 labels to print and have to go back through them time and time again to make sure all are printed.

    Avery interface and documentation stink

    By dr john

This review is from AVERY How to Use Templates:

I couldn't suggest anything about your online template system that I like. I found it impossible to use and I am a fairly sophisticated computer user. The interface is terrible, the search function useless and the documentation for using the templates might as well not exist (you can't even print it out in a readable form). Avery makes good products but obviously doesn't have a clue about online marketing.

"The website should have a Template number search bar, and then the download for a word doc or pdf once you type in the reference number. It should be that easy." I completely agree!!!!

This review is from AVERY How to Use Templates:

I love Avery products, but finding the template is so frustrating on the website. I don't want to design anything online, I use Adobe to design and it's hard to even find the Word Doc. template. The website should have a Template number search bar, and then the download for a word doc or pdf once you type in the reference number. It should be that easy.

Online templates are a joke! Great, wonderful, YOU have the most current Adobe CS package...I DON'T (and don't have the money to shell out to upgrade just for you); now I have no way to use your InDesign templates. At least give an IMDL version as an alternate download.

No way to email your tech support? What is this 1996?
