How to Use Templates
We have created templates to help you format your Avery products using Microsoft® Word, Adobe® Illustrator®, Adobe® InDesign® and Adobe® Photoshop.

If you do not have any of these programs, use Avery Design & Print Online.

After you download your Avery template, be sure to remember where you saved the file on your computer and the file name.

Open Microsoft® Word or an Adobe® program for your template and select File > Open to navigate to the drive and folder to open your template.

Use the program’s formatting and printing features to edit and save your template.

Get Adobe Flash player

Tip: For Microsoft® Word users – If the template looks like a blank page, select Table > Show Gridlines to view the template layout. For detailed instructions on Microsoft® Word templates, click here.

Thank you for using Avery templates!

Products are great, should be able to order quickly, If I find something on 1 page, I get lost if trying to get back to it after looking for the appropriate template. Why isn't there an easy direct link? Why do I have to spend time wandering around?
The whole experience makes me not want to shop on your site.
Sorry.

The templates NEED to be provided in PDF format, not just Word! I design labels in Illustrator or InDesign, so a Word template is absolutely no help to me. And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one designing in other programs that could make good use of a PDF version. Who designs anything in Word, anyways? Word is just for word processing, not design, so why in the world would templates for design only be provided for Word? I would personally never buy Avery labels because I know the templates are only in Word, but I have coworkers bringing me Avery labels. I roll my eyes after they leave my cubicle, then I am forced to create my own work-around just so I can make use of the labels. Rant over. In summary: please, please, PLEASE provide templates in PDF! My coworkers will not stop bringing me Avery labels!

Simple process - want to emrge mailing labels onto a mailing label sheet. Avery instructions for the Word template are horrendous and don't help at all to have a different name in each label.

This review is from AVERY How to Use Templates:

Although the template is set up great, the TAB feature in Word that takes you from one cell to another cell did not work. I had to use my mouse to go from one cell to another. This is highly inefficient and a waste of motions. The table could be set up better. I miss using Avery Wizard, unfortunately our company does not allow the download anymore. Furthermore, MS Word 2013 is not user friendly with Avery labels and products.

This review is from AVERY How to Use Templates:

I use Adobe products for design work, but I'm not a pro. The only "dificult/time-consuming" thing about using Avery Templates was resizing my Photoshop image to fit the template (I was creating round labels). Is there guide that gives accurate dimensions (i.e., pixels, etc.) of the blank printable areas on the template sheet? I may have missed such information, but it would be helpful!

This review is from AVERY How to Use Templates:

The templates are not designer friendly at all. I spend a ton of wasted time trying to get my design to fit into Word. Impossible to do. I use Photoshop and the template is not compatible so can't design anything in that program and add it to the template. Can't create my simplified designs in the template in Word either as the alignment does not work. Need to make templates in a pdf version that is more compatible with today's designers. Time to update Avery!
