So I hoped there was an illustrator of photoshop template for 8859, but alas there was not. However it was wickedly easy to make everything work without even microsoft word!

I save my cards in their correct size in photoshop as jpegs. Then I opened the template in LibreOffice. From there, I clicked in the middle of one cell, and went to insert, inserting my card image. I dragged the card exactly in the center and copied the image once I liked it's position. Then it was as easy as pasting the remainng cards in each cell. Easy. Saved as three different formats after that in order to make sure printing went easy. Will return to review the printing process.

I have never been so frustrated trying to print my business cards. Avery is now using templates that are no longer used in my Deluxe Business Card Program. The new 8859 with the center space is just a way for you to be forced to buy their service. Forget that, I have always done my own designing and printing. Thank you but I will keep doing it without buying Avery card products. When purchased 8859 did not realize that they had changed the spacing of the product.

I don't know if Avery has "fixed" this template (after many negative comments) or if the problem for the other folks was trying to use it with platforms for which it was not designed. I used the template on a PC running Windows 7 and Word and had NO PROBLEMS. Designed 2-sided business cards in about 25 minutes and they printed perfectly!

This review is from AVERY Business Card with center margin - Wide, 10 per sheet:

So, let me tell you how I really feel. I've used Avery Products for many, many years, probably starting with Word 2.0 in the early 1990's. Layout has always been a dream, being able to go from setup to printing in a matter of minutes. Then, along came the Avery 8859. Guaranteed to cause even the coolest head to start cussing up a storm. I spent almost 3 hours last night trying to get items to line up to no avail.
I am not using these for the standard business card, but created an image in Publisher that measures EXACTLY 2" x 3.5", the dimension of the cards, with the intent of placing the image in each of the 10 cells.
Now, it "might" be an issue with Word, but when I create tables on my own and paste images in the cells, no issues at all. However, getting the layout to match the 8859 is beginning to make me want to pull my hair out, and I don't have a lot.
For one thing, the template margins don't seem to match the stock. For one thing, it sets a 1/2" top margin, but it appears the top margin is more like .5469 inches. If someone wanted to do a true business card with a full bleed, it would be very, very difficult (if not impossible) with this stock. If you want to print a business card with a nice clean margin (maybe .25" +/-) it might work. Avery might say it's not made for inserting a full bleed image but I say why not? A label is just a label. What you put on it should be irrelevant. I've printed 8159 (60 labels/sheet) with absolute precision, but I'm ready to give up on these. I'd return them but I've messed up several sheets trying to get them to work. Trash can will probably be a good place for them!

The cards will not print correctly due to alignment problems. This is the first time I have had any problems with either Avery or Staples brands. Possibly due to my continued use of WORD 2010 and PUBLISHER 2010.

Spent hours trying to ajust margins on that template that i downloaded and still didnt work.. And avery 8859 is not compatible with publisher. there are dozens of listed avery business card templates on publisher but '8859' is not one of them. it seems like avery always comes up with new templates to make your life harder. this is the second time I run into this problem with avery. WILL NEVER BUY AVERY AGAIN.

This review is from AVERY Business Card with center margin - Wide, 10 per sheet:

Avery has known these 8859 Word templates are totally broken and cannot be adjusted manually, and they have known for months. I had to find out the hard way. A lifetime customer of theirs, it is inconceivable to me that their most expensive business card template should be so thoroughly unusable. The product gets returned today.

DO NOT BUY THESE 8859 LABELS!!
