Works but....

By Relxerd

This review is from AVERY Blue Bars Adhesive Pocket Inserts, 8 per sheet:

Using product #8869, I needed to make simple cards with my phone numbers and this template works well without using lots of color or graphics (black and white only). After re-arranging the text boxes to fit my needs, I went to print the cards out.

I found that when printing the test page, the print came out perfectly. But, when I used the card stock, the top margin seemed to disappear. So, I took the time to literally move down all the color blocks by 10 to 15 "arrow-downs". Then I adjusted the bottom margin. That worked AFTER wasting 3 sheets of cards. (didn't waste though, I printed on both sides) The 7th print worked the way I wanted so I saved it as my template.

I've had this exact problem with a 10-car stock Avery # 8371 (older style) but never adjusted the template to suit my needs. I'll try that in the future to see if I can create a good template.

It sure is too bad that a template never works right out of the box and time (2 hours or so) must be invested to make it work the way you want it. Waste is an issue for sure. But I'm convinced that this was still cheeper than purchasing the "cheep" business cards at the local office supply box store or print shop. I don't need 250 copies, just 20 at a time.
