I can't understand all the negative reviews. Using the downloadable Windows installer for my Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit machine, it works like a charm. It could be slightly more intuitive; however, it is easy to figure out if you ever used any type of labeling or greeting card software in the past (just two of many I've bought and used are Art Explosion Pro, Hallmark software, etc). Not quite as robust as Art Explosion, of course, but for free software it is quite the deal.

The program does allow me to save my address label projects (have not tried a greeting card yet, but will update once I do). It does allow reopening saved project files with no problem other than having to look at the bottom center of the Open a Saved Project tab screen once the program launches to see the correct link (middle center defaults to your online Avery account - not a deal breaker for me either way, but do prefer local machine storage as I backup regularly via Macrium Reflect free edition and Google drive).

Also, truthfully, the program does take a little longer to save and open a project than it really should, as I am using an AMD FX-6300 MHz processor, which normally blazes through whatever I through at it...this is the first program that has a several second delay when saving and opening, as well as when printing. But for free, can't complain too much.

I was ready to run when I saw the reviews, but past experience (about 8 years ago I think) with Avery software helped take a gamble, and it was well worth the roll of the dice. And did I mention, it is free?

This software is missing features that were available in DesignPro. You can no longer specify where, on the physical page, the printing should start. You can no longer specify to print multiple copies of a given label on the same page. I am currently shopping for an alternative and am open to suggestions. In the meantime, I have to keep one computer on Windows 7 just to print labels.

Used too you could down load templates that worked with MS Word as well as Open Office but no longer so I tried this. Great I guess if you want the slowness of operating over the web along with having to learn all of your printer controls if you using small Avery stickers and not the full page kind. Didn't work for me and would should have taken 2 minutes turned into 30 minutes of unproductive time. No, I do not recommend.

At first did what I needed.

This review is from Avery Design & Print:

At first all went fine. Created my labels for wedding invites. Saved, printed off some. Went back later updated, added more labels, saved, printed those. Repeat process. Today went to do more and one of my sheets is missing 80% of the labels. Can't even add a label, template is jacked up for that sheet. Can't even get those labels back. Forcing me to have to redo all those labels, but can't delete that sheet, no option to delete a sheet that I see. Tech Support was of no help. All of this was done on the offline software version and tech support kept thinking I did it online, regardless of how many times I said I did it offline and not through a web browser. Their solutions were to try a different browser or to download the offline version which obviously wouldn't help at all since that's what I was using and a different web browser wouldn't fix the softwares ability to save a project correctly. I figured I'd use this program instead of Word, due to the different templates available, guess I should have stuck with Word. Lesson learned. Hours wasted.

I just wanted to print onto divider tabs. I thought the template program would be easy to use. BOY WAS I WRONG. From figuring out the direction to load the dividers into the printer to telling the program I just want to print on a single divider, it took way too much time. Add in crazy font controls, graphics that I did not want, you are better off printing own labels and trim them to fit. You will save yourself a lot of time and aggravation.
