Impressive Makeover: Presentation Binders
You’re putting together a presentation, and of course you want it to be good. But then again, why settle for “good” when you can go all the way to great? What does it take to make a presentation truly impressive and engaging? The truth is, some small details can make all the difference in the world—starting with your presentation materials.

Your Binder Sets the Tone of the Presentation
Think of the binder you select as both the opening and the closing of your presentation. It will be the first thing people see, and it will be what they take away with them. Give people a run-of-the-mill, three-ring binder and they automatically expect a run-of-the-mill report. But add a few impressive touches and you immediately set people’s expectations a little higher.

Create a Compelling Cover
The cover you design for your presentation binder either invites people in, or makes them wish they could stay away. So make your cover compelling by customizing the cover page and using attention-getting words. Include a headline that’s inviting or works as a teaser to your presentation. For instance, a cover that says “2012 Year-End Review” is a snoozer, but “IT WAS A VERY GOOD YEAR! Our 2012 Year-End Review & Analysis” is more interesting and engaging. Plus, consider graphics, bold fonts and color to make your cover page more inviting. Fortunately, a great cover is easy to create using Avery Heavy Duty EZD View Binders and free Avery Templates. Just find a design you like, change the text and you’re good to go.

Don’t forget to make things easy and inviting for the presentation attendees. Place your agenda or a summary page in the inside pocket of the binder cover, where people can refer to it easily.

Make It Impressive, Inside and Out
Of course, you’ll want the inside of your binder to be just as impressive and inviting as the outside. So use Avery Index Maker Clear Label Dividers. The clear labels virtually disappear on the divider tabs, leaving you with a professional, custom-printed look. Plus, you can label both the front and back of the divider tabs, making it easy to access information from either side of the binder. For a great touch, you can even add a graphic to your tabs. It’s all simple to do using the auto-fill template available at And the included Easy Apply Labels allow you to apply all the tab labels at once, saving you lots of time.

So next time you’re putting together a presentation, don’t settle for “fine,” when with a little extra effort, you can go all the way to fabulous!
