Five Things You Should Take Care of Today
Monthly bills, income taxes and boring tasks may not make the list of our favorite things to do. But while it’s easy to put them off until later, those procrastinating ways can lead to a pileup of problems down the road. Want the secret to tackling those mundane duties we detest? Here are five simple ways to show procrastination who’s boss.

1) Tackle your day-to-day tasks

Rise and shine—it’s a new day, and a fresh new list of responsibilities. Give yourself a good starting point each day with these checklist templates to help you zero in on the important tasks of the day. Print on Avery Removable ID Labels and attach to your workstation, refrigerator or other visible surface, or print on Avery Postcards to tuck inside your planner.

2) Avoid late fees that can hurt you

Putting off your mortgage payment and credit card bills past the due date can significantly affect your credit and lead to penalty fees. Get your important mail ready to go by pre-addressing your envelopes with Avery Address Labels.

3) Make that appointment you keep putting off

When’s the last time you saw your doctor or dentist, or had your eyes checked? Open wide and say “ahhh”—and write a quick reminder to get your appointment on the books.

4) Take better care of yourself

That deep-fried, triple-decker cheeseburger might look pretty tempting—but you’ve made a commitment to eat healthier this year. Stick to your guns by marking better diet choices in your recipe book.

5) Not ready for tax day? File for a tax extension

Dreading the tax time deadline? Well, there’s good news and bad news. The good news is you can request more time to prepare your forms by filing a Form 4868 - Application for Automatic Extension of Time by tax day. If your request is approved, you’ll receive an additional six months to file. But the bad news is, if you owe taxes it won’t give you an extension to pay (you’ll have to file Form 9465 - Request for Installment Agreement). Contact a tax professional for further details.

Challenge yourself to kick those bad procrastination habits to the curb! With a little motivation, planning and determination, you’ll soon be on your way to taking care of business.
