I used to spend ages on Hanging File Tabs. They were difficult to type, then they had to be torn apart and put in plastic tabs and the most time consuming part placed in the hanging file folder! The new ones are terrific. The down side is they can't be re-used but it wasn't practice to re-use the others because by the time the "white out" dried and you wrote on them you had really wasted time not to mention how dreadful they looked.
The type on labels are more expensive but when you count the amount of labor saved they are a real buy (unless you are getting paid $0.25 an hour!)

I really love the design of these labels. They are perfect for any lower file drawer, like a desk side-drawer or the bottom of a cabinet. Who can get down on the right level to read labels without bending them upward and, in the process, wilting them. All file labels should be readable from the top. My problem stems from the lack of stickiness on these labels. I had to go through the entire drawer and put tape over the top to keep them in place. I was not thrilled with the on-line design tool either. I had high hopes of putting my company logo on these and making them truly impressive. Unfortunately, in addition to being difficult to use, none of the "fancy" features available would print for me. No error message, they just didn't show up.

I would still recommend them, though, just because they are really handy for your desk side drawer. You can just look down to find something instead of thumbing through the tabs.

Not impressed. A folding guide would be nice.

This review is from Top View Hanging File Tabs 1/5 Cut 5568:

Junk in my opinion. No where in the package is there a guide to tell you how to fold these. Turns out they are not symmetrical. If you are careful to bend the label on the scores provided, so you have a nice flat top section, the bottom pieces do not line up. IF you make the bottom edge line up then the whole label is cockeyed. This means means you better fold them all exactly the same or they will look irregular and sloppy in your file. How hard would it have been to have a symmetrical label that looks good? To hard for Avery I suppose. Take a close look at the package. See how the picture shows them leaning over? That's not artistic license. Also, as soon as I folded them the piece of paper that has been printed on the top, is actually separate material then what the larger label is made out of. It immediately separated at the long edge, and wants to peel off. Not happy at all.

            trouble inserting in folders

This review is from Top View Hanging File Tabs 1/5 Cut 5568:

I recently bough the top view labels and the creases are hard to bend to get a good view from the top and had lots of trouble inserting them into the folders causing the labels to be wrinkled and made it hard to read the labels.

Having worked for years in companies and law offices, there is no way you can get a better file tab to work with and it stands out when you look through the files. Saves time and work. Could not see how to have files without using these tabs. Note: I also love the colored file stick-on tabs and the clear ones as well. Hard to choose which to review!
