The best way to have it work property (ie, print upside down on every other space) is to download the Avery Wizard for Microsoft. That way, when you open up the template it is all ready to use and works famously. The only annoying thing was trying to add extra pages so that I could print more than two labels at a time. I ended up just cutting and pasting, which worked ok, except for the odd row that went onto its own page here and there which I just had to delete.

I downloaded the template for Word to use on my Mac. I need to make place cards for 500 people. The template does not allow tabbing from card to card, so flowing names from Excel will not work so I would need to copy and paste each one; it does not allow inserting additional pages (the online forum hints for doing that don't work), so I would have to create 125 individual documents to complete this task. It also does not have the name on the back side of the tent upside down so that it would be correct when folded, so two sided table tents are also out of the question. I can't save as a pdf to insert into a design program, since the pdf comes out blank. My only recourse is to make a screen shot of the template and place as a background in InDesign. Those who are on a PC may have more luck with the Avery toolbar, but if you are on a Mac and want to create a file for a client to print out on the Avery product, be prepared for frustration.

Customer Service, Lashanae, was very helpful!

Pros

  • Easy Once Explained

Cons

    Best Uses

    • Small Volumes

This review is from Laser & Ink Jet Tent Cards 5305:

I followed instructions, went to you website, downloaded the template and resorted to Googling the 'how to'. Decided to use Word doc version, per online suggestions, but it still wasn't lining up. I called your customer service number and thank goodness I was lucky enough to get Lashanae. She saved the day! She was patient, easy to understand, helpful and seemed genuinely happy to help. Now I've printed tent cards needed for a Listing/Open House and I am a happy customer.

Suggestion: if the instructions were more explanatory then it might cut down on frustrations/calls. I appreciate the speed and knowledge that Lashanae was able to assist me and get this done.

This is a pretty standard, good product. What I like is how easy they are to line-up and print on. It makes organizing name tent cards a breeze when the printing process goes smoothly. Would recommend.

This review is from Laser & Ink Jet Tent Cards 5305:

I had high hopes for these, assuming they would separate like the business cards. They do not. Even after folding back and forth both ways on the perforated lines and running my fingernail across to get a sharp crease, the name tents would not tear cleanly away from the edge. They looked terrible. I had to hand trim each one. I won't be buying these again. Very disappointing!
