Basic Formatting and Printing Tips
  • Customize the Avery template for your product using one of Avery's template or software tools. For the best way to print your Avery products, use Avery Design & Print Online.
  • Adjust printer settings to optimize print quality. For example, choose the Labels setting if printing labels, or choose the Cards setting if printing cards. Choose Photo Quality for optimum printing results.
  • Always test print on a plain sheet of paper. Hold the printed sheet behind the Avery product to check the alignment of your layout. Slight adjustments to the layout may be necessary. If the entire sheet is slightly misaligned, adjust the top and/or left margins slightly if your program has this feature. When satisfied with the layout, print onto the Avery product.
  • When printing label products, do not feed labels through your printer more than once. The Avery satisfaction guarantee extends only to a sheet of labels that has been fed through a printer a single time.
  • Use only Avery brand products for guaranteed results.

There is a free download if you have Windows 10 that apparently fixes alignment problems and double images. Found it with Google.

          Horrible Software

Once the card is designed the software simply doesn't print right. One burns through multiple pages in a futile attempt to align and print a fold over card. What a great way to sell paper products, burn up the package just trying to get a card to print correctly.

          Done with Avery!

          By Karen

          from North Carolina

This review is from AVERY Basic Formatting and Printing Tips:

I am using Avery 8877 Business Cards, and one or two sheets will print correctly, and the next one will print off-set to the right of the page. I have tried all settings on my printer, in the Avery program, have reviewed the Avery printing tips, with no luck! Am terribly frustrated and have wasted lots of money! When I have used the Staples brand and another brand, I have not had this problem. Will not buy Avery again!

          Alignment off

          By Susan

          from Naples, Me

This review is from AVERY Basic Formatting and Printing Tips:

I have just spent almost an hour on the phone, first on hold with Avery, who told me I had to call Epson, more hold time, then they give me the PC help desk, and I need the MaC help desk. Trying to print labels 5144 for a meeting, in 5 minutes. They need to print down the middle but are printing all the way to the left. Epson took me through many steps and told me it was an Avery problem with the application. Guess what, I'm not calling Avery back - I've done my time, while the idea of the Template is awesome, it's a tease.
