How do I get the printing to align properly on the page?

You can try these things:

  • Print on both a plain sheet of paper and your label or card sheet. Compare the sheets to check alignment.
  • Change the printer properties to “label” or “heavyweight” in the print dialog box. When you click Print and choose your printer, click on the Properties button and look on the menu for Paper options.
  • If using Avery Design & Print Online, use the Make a Printer Adjustment option on the print page. This will allow you to shift the printing up, down or to the side. View demo.
  • If using Microsoft® Word, adjust the columns or rows by clicking on the border and dragging it to a new position.
  • For additional help, go to our Help Center and choose Printing under General Help.

A few years ago I had no printing alignment issues...but Adobe Reader keeps updating ...and browers update and then things don't work like they used to! I am having a terrible time getting my labels to print in the center using Avery online printing solutions and Firefox and Adobe Reader. I tried everything. Today I found using IE (not chrome) prints the labels in the center with NO issues! Who'd of thought!

I purchased the textured white print-to-the-edge arched labels (22809) and was excited to use them with the template I had designed using Avery's online tool.

Unfortunately I ruined two sheets of labels because the online template and the actual product have different spacing between labels.

Online template: 1/8" vertically, 7/16" horizontally

Actual product: 1/4" vertically, 1/2" horizontally

I ensured that I turned off the "Fit to page" option and that I was using the correct template for the product. Now I have to find a computer that has Microsoft Word on it so that I can download the template and see if that works better than the online printing wizard.

I'm so frustrated. Not only were the labels expensive, I've now lost 1/5 of the product due to poor software design on Avery's website and several hours of my time trying to troubleshoot. This is a terrible user journey!

not so good

This review is from AVERY How do I get the printing to align properly on the page?:

I had to adapt the page by myself, in a long process of trial and error, having to print four times until reaching quite an acceptable result.

I think my alignment issues are solved

I too moved computer and was having alignment issues with Avery L7159 on Office 2010 and Windows 8. Previously worked well on my Mac. Anyway check your paper size. Check your paper scaling. I scaled mine from 'no scaling' to scale to A4 and then all the planets aligned and it printed correctly. Subsequently no matter whether i selected paper scaling or not, the labels were all aligned. There is no logic to this.. but it somehow worked

I used to love using Avery products, but like many others after HOURS of working with my template and searching how to fit my project to the correct paper size I have given up. I consider myself computer savvy, am using Chrome as others have suggested, have tried from the web and Adobe with no luck. As a small business owner I loved being able to design and print at home, although this has wasted too much time and resources for me to consider purchasing another Avery product.

With my old windows xp no problem with printing labels. Now with 8.1 labels do not line up correctly. If I use Avery Template for Microsoft Word they do line up.
