How do I get the printing to align properly on the page?

You can try these things:

  • Be sure you are using a genuine Avery product – non-Avery products are not optimized for our templates, and are not manufactured to our specifications.
  • Test print. Print first on a sheet of plain paper to determine which direction to feed in your printer and to check your design and alignment.
  • Printer settings. When you click Print, look in the Properties options in the print dialog box. Adjust Paper Type to Labels and Print Quality to Best. If your printer doesn't have a Labels setting, choose Heavyweight or Cardstock.
  • Feed once. Don't re-print on the same sheet of labels.
  • For additional help, go to our Help Center and choose Printing under General Help.

I'm using Windows 10, Word and selected in labels Avery L7161. Everything appeared fine on the screen but when printing the top row of labels was OK but all the rest had 'crept' up the page, making the labels useless. After trying various different things, I went to Print, page setup, Layout where I noticed there was a measurement set for headers and footers. I reduced these values to zero and the labels printed fine.

I don't know if this will help others but I thought I'd share this tip.

I purchased the textured white print-to-the-edge arched labels (22809) and was excited to use them with the template I had designed using Avery's online tool.

Unfortunately I ruined two sheets of labels because the online template and the actual product have different spacing between labels.

Online template: 1/8" vertically, 7/16" horizontally

Actual product: 1/4" vertically, 1/2" horizontally

I ensured that I turned off the "Fit to page" option and that I was using the correct template for the product. Now I have to find a computer that has Microsoft Word on it so that I can download the template and see if that works better than the online printing wizard.

I'm so frustrated. Not only were the labels expensive, I've now lost 1/5 of the product due to poor software design on Avery's website and several hours of my time trying to troubleshoot. This is a terrible user journey!

I purchased the product 41571 2" round kraft brown labels and used the on-line templates. I could not get the labels to print out the correct size! I could not get any help from the website! what a waste of my time

DO NOT BUY - Labels 22807

      By Debbie

      from Los Angeles

This review is from AVERY How do I get the printing to align properly on the page?:

Using this product was a hugely disappointing experience. I purchased the round labels 22807 in an attempt to print custom baby shower labels for favors ect. I was depending on them for a huge part of the decoration and already bought all the additional pieces I would need that I would use these labels on. The online templates are nice but there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to get these to print perfectly in the circles. I would be ok with them just printing over the lines if they lined up, but that wasn't even possible. 6 HOURS LATER! I gave up and just accepted the fact these wouldn't print on the labels and would just look terrible and unprofessional. SO DISAPPOINTING!!! A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.

This review is from AVERY How do I get the printing to align properly on the page?:

After over 45 minutes chatting with an agent, I was no where. It sounds like we got a bad batch of labels (box of 1000). Too bad, so sad is the outcome. Waste of my time and is a disappointment that Avery doesn't have better quality control on their label stock and customer service. The agent was clearly doing something else due to the time lapse between comments which is why the chat took so long. We tested multiple sheets in different configurations with different software and printers and no matter how we printed, the edge was not aligned on this box of 5160 labels.

Avery glossy label paper unusable in most printers

          By SmallBusinessOwner

          from Lexington Massachusetts

This review is from AVERY How do I get the printing to align properly on the page?:

Avery recently made a change to the glossy round label paper (22830). I've been using these labels for years with no trouble. After this last change (the paper is thinner and they added slits in the top of the paper) I am no longer able to print my labels. I have gone through five different printers.

I'm assuming I'm not the only one with this problem.

I don't understand how using the Avery website and Avery paper, my labels are coming out all over the place. There is no consistency amongst labels on the same page. Along with most of the people here, I have wasted numerous hours, labels and ink trying to get the labels to print correctly. I am a small business owner and am going to lose business by my product looking unprofessional.
