Basic Formatting and Printing Tips
  • Customize the Avery template for your product using one of Avery's template or software tools. For the best way to print your Avery products, use Avery Design & Print Online.
  • Adjust printer settings to optimize print quality. For example, choose the Labels setting if printing labels, or choose the Cards setting if printing cards. Choose Photo Quality for optimum printing results.
  • Always test print on a plain sheet of paper. Hold the printed sheet behind the Avery product to check the alignment of your layout. Slight adjustments to the layout may be necessary. If the entire sheet is slightly misaligned, adjust the top and/or left margins slightly if your program has this feature. When satisfied with the layout, print onto the Avery product.
  • When printing label products, do not feed labels through your printer more than once. The Avery satisfaction guarantee extends only to a sheet of labels that has been fed through a printer a single time.
  • Use only Avery brand products for guaranteed results.

Poor template spacing

By Tim the novice

from Tacoma, WA

This review is from AVERY Basic Formatting and Printing Tips:

The help page was good as far as it went, but it didn't address my problem. The vertical space between the labels on the online template and the vertical space between the peel and stick labels was not the same. As a result, the alignment was fine when the printer printed the top row of labels; but, when the bottom row printed, the image was too low to align with the actual label (it shifted about 1/4-inch). The template provides for general shifting of the image to improve printer alignment, but it doesn't provide a means to scale the vertical dimension.

I have been trying to print labels for the last HOUR!! Every time it switches it to a PDF file it locks up. I have to use task manager to close it and then it closes the internet all together!! I tried saving it to my computer hoping it would save a PDF file but it doesn't so that was no help. How am I supposed to use my labels if I can't print them??!!

Business Card Templates

By EiLL

from Undisclosed

This review is from AVERY Basic Formatting and Printing Tips:

The array of designs and the adaptability of the designs is an excellent feature and fun and pretty easy to use. Success in printing was less so. I did it without a glitch the first time and really like my business card appearance. However, using the same saved design and printing on the same printer, the second time they repeatedly came out misaligned, wasting lots of time and paper stock, despite attempting to use the online design print adjustment tool. I guess there is a help chat, I would use it next time with more time. Would use this product again if could get that straightened out.
