Basic Formatting and Printing Tips
  • Customize the Avery template for your product using one of Avery's template or software tools. For the best way to print your Avery products, use Avery Design & Print Online.
  • Adjust printer settings to optimize print quality. For example, choose the Labels setting if printing labels, or choose the Cards setting if printing cards. Choose Photo Quality for optimum printing results.
  • Always test print on a plain sheet of paper. Hold the printed sheet behind the Avery product to check the alignment of your layout. Slight adjustments to the layout may be necessary. If the entire sheet is slightly misaligned, adjust the top and/or left margins slightly if your program has this feature. When satisfied with the layout, print onto the Avery product.
  • When printing label products, do not feed labels through your printer more than once. The Avery satisfaction guarantee extends only to a sheet of labels that has been fed through a printer a single time.
  • Use only Avery brand products for guaranteed results.

This review is from AVERY Basic Formatting and Printing Tips:

I'm trying to print labels for my products I sell and it won't let me print. The program just wants to keep saving it, even though at the top of the page, it says "Print". This has never happened before and it is very frustrating! I tried other labels and the same thing happened. What is going on?

I have an HP 5600, BUT, the Avery does not print on it. What is the point of having a label design software that doesn't print. Avery obviously know about this but don't care

      Printing 74520 for Badges

      By Pat

      from Lincoln, NE

This review is from AVERY Basic Formatting and Printing Tips:

I am creating unique badges for a class reunion event - my badges look great on the screen, and they consistently do not print in the appropriate spot on the badge. Thankfully I'm wasting paper and not badges at this point. This should not be this difficult. Logic says I center the badge in the middle of the printer - but it makes no difference, left, right, or center, the text is not where it should be. I call in and the hours stop at 5 pm pacific time. Really, I work outside the home during the day - you can't provide help later?

This review is from AVERY Basic Formatting and Printing Tips:

I designed my own DVD label from the downloaded program, and it worked great. There are beautiful label options on the online system, so I thought I'd try those. Love the new design, however I wasted printed 8 pages of labels before I realized that the labels didn't line up. I followed the instructions to use the printer adjustment on the printer page. I looked everywhere, and couldn't find it. The help video on the print page did not work, so I searched online for it. When I found where the adjustment tab should be, I went back to the program to find that the adjustment link was replaced by Avery's advertisement to use their printing service. When I redesigned to Avery's printing specs, it was obvious that the whole online template was off.

If the online templates are only for printing through Avery's printing program, they make that fact clear before we waste our own time and Avery product.

I'm going to try to use the PDF I created from the online program to place as an image on the downloaded Avery program I have. Hopefully that will work, but honestly, I'm disappointed with the hassle.
