DId not work

By medieval woman

from WA

This review is from Avery Label Merge Add-On for Google Docs:

I used the Avery Label Merge for Google Sheets to create a Google doc to print the labels. I followed the instructions and entered the label number. First the program did not work. Then when I reran it, the program produced labels that did not print in line with the actual labels. I had to manually change the table row height and fiddle with the top margin in page setup, measuring each of about 15 trial printouts with a ruler, before I finally entered the magic numbers to make it work for me. No good.

Incorrect spacing between Address entries, won't print right

Cons

  • Compatibility Issues

This review is from Avery Label Merge Add-On for Google Docs:

When the program outputs to the page for printing there is large spacing between the address entries. This means the addresses don't print on your standard pages with adhesives which defeats the purpose of this program. Surprisingly, the Microsoft version of Avery works correctly. I normally prefer google office but microsoft office wins here.

I can get it to merge, but when I click 'Open Document' nothing happens and no document appears. Frustrating.

Works well for "simple" merge needs

This review is from Avery Label Merge Add-On for Google Docs:

This Add-on is a great feature to be able to have and use in Google Docs. However, the merges I used to do with 'other' software would skip including fields that were blank (for example, a second line of an address). With this Add-on, I get jibberish merged into my labels where those fields are empty for those rows of the spreadsheet. This is pretty un-helpful. How can I do conditional empty field merges?

      Not inserting fields correctly

I am trying to find an easy universal way to create mailing address labels and decided to try google spreadsheets and the avery label merge on my MacBook Air. In testing it using Chrome, it is not pulling all the fields chosen correctly. It did name, street address, city and state ok but is putting the word "Zip" instead of the actual zip code for the last field. Any idea why it won't pull this field correctly?
