Create a Close-Knit Family with Matching T-Shirts

Family vacations can turn from fun times to frenzy when you lose track of each other in a crowd. But with matching t-shirts, it’s easier for kids and adults alike to keep track of each other and spot their fellow family members in a sea of people. Matching t-shirts are not only a good idea for traveling safely, but can also be a memorable keepsake.

Step 1: Gather Supplies

Instructions: Find the right shirt sizes for all your family members and get a package of Avery Fabric Transfers. These transfers are available for light-colored, dark-colored and stretchable fabric shirts, and can be applied to t-shirts or sweatshirts.

Step 2: Start Your T-Shirt Project

Instructions: There are a couple options that you can choose to start:

You can download a t-shirt template in Microsoft® Word.

Or you can design your project using Avery Design & Print Online, the free online software. Just click Create Project by Product Type, then select the appropriate Avery product from the menu on the right.

Step 3: Personalize

Instructions: Get creative with your family t-shirt design. You might consider using a personal photo, a favorite phrase, a unique design of your family name or a title for your family trip.

Using the template, you can easily personalize your design by clicking on any of the design elements and replacing it with your own.

With Design & Print Online, choose a design template to get started and follow the step-by-step instructions. You can easily personalize your design by clicking on any of the design elements and replacing it with your own. To add clip art, click the Clip Art Gallery button. To insert an image from your own file, click the From File button.

Step 4: Print

Instructions: Print your design on Avery Fabric Transfers, following the directions on the package.

Step 5: Iron On

Instructions: Cut out the shape of your design. Follow the directions on the package to iron onto the shirt.

HELPFUL HINT:
Be sure to turn the shirt inside out (with the t-shirt transfer on the inside) before washing.
