Even if they stick at first, over years they will fall off. When making the folder, I use 3M/Scotch Clear Shipping Tape to cover them. Someone also asked about a template, and Microsoft Word has built in templates - just click on the Mailings tab > Labels and you can choose from many templates and then save the Word document to use over and over. I usually adjust the cell margins from the Table Tools > Cell Margins icon.

I have worked in offices for over 35 years and have always purchased Avery file folder labels. Until this past year I have never experienced file folder labels that would not stick! Avery thought I had a bad batch so they sent me a new box - they were just as bad as the first ones. I called back and was sent file folder label #8593 with sticker on the front that says "Ultrahold Adhesive Sticks to More Surfaces" and they DO stick. Avery - please recall all these labels that do not stick and replace with the "Ultrahold Adhesive". They are not easy to find.

I've been wishing that Avery would number the rows to make individual label making a lot easier. I've been printing the numbers in the center between the two columns. It just makes my life a bit easier!

Admittedly, I have had these labels for over 7 months now, but their adhesive simply doesn't stick any more! Now I have to put clear tape across the label to make it stay in place, which makes it harder to reuse the file. ~Needs more staying power~

These little babies are wonderful. I use them at work and have also found that they make wonderful identification labels. I use them to label snack bags when I take my five gkids on outings, they are also very useful for spice jars when the old label has faded or fallen off. And I like to use the online templates to make name tags of a sort...that I place inside of books that I give as gifts. GREAT product
