The trick to making a page of different labels involves an extra step. Once you have your label type selected and you think everything is ready to go, click on 'New Document' and word creates a page showing all the labels. You can enter your data for each label and then print the page!

I followed every step, but when I get to the step for applying the template to my document by selecting ok, nothing happens. Also, I only have the choice to print one label or a full sheet of the same label. I'd like to be able to have individual text on each label in a sheet.

This version is a step backward

This review is from Finding Avery Templates Built-in to Microsoft Word:

Compared with previous version in which I downloaded Avery templates into Word, was able to utilize a very effective wizard, and had choices of font and size, spacing, layout, printing from lists, etc. this imbed is very marginal. The instructions work, but the product is poor. I would prefer to go back to the old approach or just a completely separate set of Avery wizards.

CORRECT template instructions - current versions of Word

      By Office Maven

      from The Midwest

This review is from Finding Avery Templates Built-in to Microsoft Word:

To design your own mailing labels within more recent versions of Word (works in Word 2013, etc.):

      -Start Microsoft Word.
      -Click the New Document button.
-Choose the Mailings tab, then select Envelopes and Labels.
-Select Options, then select "Avery US Letter"
-Choose the Product Number for the labels you want to create and then click OK.
Now, this is what brings it up as the document:
      -Click "New Document".

Why Avery.com has chosen to not include correct instructions when it is obvious by the many reviews I cannot imagine. Extremely poor customer service in this aspect.

Avery, PLEASE update your website to have correct instructions across the different platforms. Some of us make hundreds, if not thousands, of labels per year and it is discouraging to have to get CORRECT INSTRUCTIONS FROM YOUR COMPETITOR's website.

      Word plug-in does not work

Used to be a good program, now the print preview leaves off the bottom line, if it works at all. Useless. The standalone program works fine, but I can't send that template to another card vendor, I think they are trying to force us to use their more expensive printing service.

This review is from Finding Avery Templates Built-in to Microsoft Word:

After discussing my print job with a Staples associate, I was told it would be easy to afix my picture with the Avery label I requested from the Word doc options tab.

At the end of the day, it doesn't work and is so non-intuitive that I'm amazed that Avery is considered the industry leader.

Clearly Avery doesn't have instructions for Word

            By Chris

            from Fort Worth, TX

This review is from Finding Avery Templates Built-in to Microsoft Word:

Avery's instructions for using MS Word are incomplete. It's impossible to use these instructions for a label like 5195. Avery have not placed the critical information like horizontal pitch, vertical pitch and other details necessary to have MS Word create the labels. In the case of the 5195 Return Address Labels, the labels are not distributed across the width of the paper. There is no provision for this in MS Word - at least through the "Mailings" ribbon setting.
Simply a waste of time, and waste of money on Avery Labels.
